What is a tester weft?

We'll break down what the tester weft is in a few digestible points.

• The tester weft is located in the bottom compartment of the rectangular box or the top compartment of the circular box. You can take out this piece to determine if the color is a good match.
• Your tester weft will be either a 2 or 3 clip weft.
• This tester weft is part of the full head set. It is the 9th or 10th weft (depending on the weight you purchase) to your set.
• Your tester weft should be used for color and texture comparison purposes only.

What do I do with the tester weft?

• Please open this bottom compartment of the box first, prior to opening the main compartment.
• Unravel the tester weft from it's hair netting.
• Hold the card and weft up against your hair in natural lighting to determine if the shade is the right match for you.
• If it's the right match, you may open the main compartment of the box and enjoy your Luxies!
• If it's not a good match, please wrap the tester weft back in its hair netting and place it back in the bottom compartment of the box. Then, initiate a return or exchange here.

What should I not do with the tester weft?

• Please do not remove the tester weft from the golden security tie and the card it is attached to.
• Please do not clip-in the weft to your hair, only hold it up against it. This is because hair extensions are a hygienic product, and since this weft is part of the full head set, if you do not wish to keep the set it will be sold to another customer.
• Please do not tamper with the tester weft in any way. This includes dyeing, toning, cutting, curling, straightening, and washing.

What is your return and exchange policy?

We are happy to accept all packages back for a return or exchange within 60 days of purchase as long as the main compartment of the box has not been opened or tampered with, and the tester weft is still in its original condition. For more information, click here.

Why do they look longer on some people and shorter on others?

Great question! This is because Luxy Hair extensions will appear different in length on every person, as we all have different torso lengths. If you have a longer torso or are quite tall, Luxies will appear shorter on you. If you are more petite or have a shorter torso, Luxies will appear longer on you.

How long will Luxy Hair extensions be on me?

In order to determine how long your Clip-Ins will be on you, we recommend measuring either 16, 20 or 24 inches down from the top of your ear with a measuring tape, as most wefts will be applied around the crown of your head. For Halo® hair extensions, please measure from the crown of your head as the main weft will be applied here. For our Ponytail Extensions, click here to see how long they will be.

What if Luxy Hair extensions are too long on me?

Since Luxies are made of 100% remy human hair, they can be cut or trimmed to any desired length by an experienced hair stylist if you are interested in a shorter length. If you decide to get them cut, we recommend having them already clipped into your hair during the haircut. We also recommend coming up with a numbering system for the wefts, so that you know exactly where each weft is supposed to be clipped in for the future uses.

What if I want a longer length?

We are always open to feedback! Should you be interested in a length, color, or other option for hair extensions that we don't currently carry, kindly send us an email at info@luxyhair.com, and we'll be happy to keep your suggestion in mind for future product considerations.

Just like your own hair, Luxy Hair extensions can be straightened, blow-dried, styled and curled. In order to preserve and extend the lifespan of your Luxy Hair extensions, however, we suggest to always use a heat protectant spray prior to styling your set.

Additionally, we recommend to only use a low heat setting of 120C/250F, as anything higher runs the risk of damaging the hair. The reason why we recommend opting for a lower heat setting is because it will prolong the lifespan of your set. While our own hair may be able to handle a high heat setting, our hair is also constantly getting revitalized from the scalp, whereas hair extensions don't get that sort of constant nutrition.

If clipped in properly, once your hair extensions are clipped in, they are virtually undetectable. The base of each weft is thin and flat, and all wefts come with sturdy clips with a silicone grip to keep each weft in place. The wefts are clipped in between layers of your own natural hair, to blend naturally and seamlessly. Don't believe us?
